Chicken Cafreal with Potato Wheels


1 Kg Chicken
1 Tbsp Turmeric Powder
Salt as needed
4 Tbsp Oil

For Green Masala:
2 cups Coriander Leaves with the stalk
8-10 Green Chillies
1 inch Cinnamon Stick
1 Tbsp Black Peppercorns
1/2 Tsp Cloves
1 Bay Leaf
1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
Juice of 2 Lemons
1 inch Ginger, cut roughly
8-10 cloves of Garlic

For Potato Wheels:
2 Tbsp Oil
2 large Potatoes, sliced

For Garnish:
Slit Red Chillies


Grind the ingredients for the masala into a fine paste without water

Make gashes on the chicken pieces. Add salt and turmeric powder to the chicken along with the green masala and marinate it well for 1 hour in the fridge

Heat oil in a shallow pan and fry the chicken for 4-5 minutes on medium heat in batches, so that they have sufficient space to cook

Once brown on all sides, place all the chicken back in the pan. Add some water to the left over spice mix and add it to the chicken

Cover and cook  for 15-18 minutes on medium heat

For Potato Wheels:

In another pan, heat oil and start frying the potatoes

Add salt and let them turn a golden  brown colour on both sides

Once done, arrange the potatoes  around the chicken in a serving  plate and garnish with red chillies and coriander
