A delicious basic french toast recipe made with eggs, milk, cinnamon & bread. Golden brown on the outside, rich and fluffy on the inside. Serve with some syrup and fresh fruits for a simple breakfast or brunch! ?

•2 large eggs
•1/3 cup whole milk (or heavy cream or half & half)
•1 tsp granulated sugar
•1/4 tsp cinnamon
•1/8 tsp salt
•dash of vanilla extract
•pinch of nutmeg
•5 slices of toast (I like to use Villagio white bread classico because they are thicker than regular toast)

✨In a large shallow bowl add all of the ingredients and whisk very well.
✨Preheat a non stick griddle (or frying pan) on medium heat for a few minutes, add butter and brush evenly across.
✨Dip bread in mixture and place onto griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
✨Drizzled with maple syrup and/or powdered sugar (optional) and top with fresh fruits and butter.

~Stale bread works best. Fresh bread will get soggy quickly. Too much milk will make the bread soggy as well.
~Use 3/4 to an inch thick bread. Thin bread won’t hold the egg mixture in well.
~Bring your eggs and milk to room temperature before using.
