MEGHLI (Rice Pudding)✨

This traditional Lebanese dessert is usually served to celebrate the birth of a baby but it’s soo good I make it all year round whenever the cravings hit. I wrote down my moms recipe when she made delicious rice pudding when I had all 4 of my kids, here is her recipe below:

Recipe:
•8 cups cold water
•1 cup rice flour (رز ناعم)
•1 1/4 cup sugar (سكر)
•1 1/2 tbsp caraway powder (كراوية)
•1 tbsp ground anise seeds (يانسون ناعم)
•1 tbsp ground cinnamon (كرفة)

For garnish:
•Almonds (soaked in water the night before) & peeled
•Pine nuts
•Shredded coconut, unsweetened
•Crushed pistachio
•Walnuts

Method:
▫️In a pot add all of the dry ingredients and mix them all together. Add water and whisk well.
▫️Bring to a boil on med/high heat then lower the heat and continue stirring on low until the mixture starts to thicken (15-20 minutes). Make sure to stir continuously.
▫️Pour into individual cups and let then cool slightly. Cover each one with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours. Garnish right before serving. Enjoy!😍
Store in the fridge for 3-5 days.
